KS1 History Quizzes

Key Stage 1 History gives pupils in Years 1 and 2 their first structured encounter with the past. The national curriculum aims to develop an awareness of the past, using common words and phrases relating to the passing of time, and to help children understand where the people and events they study fit within a chronological framework. History at this stage is taught through stories, artefacts, pictures, and visits, making it engaging and accessible for young learners.

People and Events That Shaped Our World

Our KS1 History quizzes cover the core areas of the national curriculum. Changes within living memory quizzes help children compare aspects of life in different periods, such as toys, homes, schools, transport, and technology. Events beyond living memory quizzes explore nationally and globally significant occasions, including the Great Fire of London, the Gunpowder Plot, the first moon landing, and the sinking of the Titanic. Chronology and Historical Thinking

A key aim of KS1 History is to develop a sense of chronology.
