Halogens are found on group VII of the periodic table. This group is also known as group 17 and it is made up of the chemical elements, Fluorine (F), Chlorine (Cl), Bromine (Br), Iodine (I) and Astatine (At). The group number of 17 is known as the IUPAC group number. The term “halogens” given to group 7 elements means “Salt former”
