Revising Group VII the Halogens with quizzes
(Group VII the halogens quiz for students doing the GCSE, GCE Advanced level and necta)
Here we're going to look at all the elements in group 7, their physical properties and the uses of some of these halogens.
All the Group VII elements are known as the halogens and these elements include (F) Florine, (Cl) Chlorine, (Br) Bromine, (I) Iodine, (At) Astatine and (Ts) Tennessine.
Because of their high reactivity, halogens only exist in a combined form and can't be found as free elements in nature with Fluorine being the most abundant of all the halogens in the crust of the Earth. Tennessine and Astatine do not happen in nature and this is because they are mad of only short-lived isotopes which are Radioactive.
Physical Properties of Halogens
Halogens are colored, Chlorine being Pale green and a gas, Bromine Brown and a liquid, Iodine being purple black and a solid
The melting point and the boiling points of these elements increase as we descend the group
