Combined quiz on light sound and hearing

15 Questions

Quiz Description

In this quiz, we will be focusing on light, sound as well as hearing. We use our eyes to see everything around us, have you ever wondered why? This is because we also have light, and without light, everything will be a mist of darkness. In this combined quiz, you will find questions on sound waves, pitch/frequency, loudness/amplitude, comparing the speed of light/sound, hearing - function of ear and light, and many other interesting stuffs about light , sound and hearing.

Light or as we all call it visible light is a form of electromagnetic(EM) radiation that can only be detected by the human eye. It is part of the EM spectrum. It is important to know that the study of light is known as optics with optics quizzes as one of the very important quizzes in Physics and you may be tested from there as well.

Sound on the other hand is a wave formed when something causes vibration of air particles, when these vibrations get into the ear, they are heard, hence sound. This, therefore, means that hearing is the ability to detect sound with the ear. When sound is of very low frequency below 20Hz, it can not be detected by the human ear, this sound is known as infrasound. Sound above 20Khz is known as ultra sound and it is also inaudible to the human ear. Therefore the human ear can detect sound between 20Hz to 20KHz only.

This combined quiz in Physics, has sound, light, and hearing to have some certain similar characteristics. The very common one is frequency. Quizzes have been set for you with each question giving you a ¼ chance to pass that question. Take the quiz and enjoy.
Best of luck!
