William Morris, born on the 24th of March 1834 was an English architect, fabric designer, writer, socialist and artist. Graduating from Oxford, he became an apprentice to Gothic revival architects in 1856 and it was in that same year that he founded the Oxford and Cambridge Magazines. Throughout his life, he wrote and published poetry, fiction and translations of ancient text. He founded the Socialist League in 1884 and as an important person in the emergence of socialism in Great Britain, he died on the 3rd of October 1896.
