KS2 (key stage 2) Online Sound Quizzes

(Fun and interesting ks2 Sound Quizzes for children that wish to better prepare themselves as they go in for the end of year ks2 SATs or for children that wish to boost their knowledge and increase their performance in class)

You are welcome to gcequiz.com. Here, we help children in all levels of education to better prepare for their exams, boost their knowledge and their performance in class. We do this by providing the child with thousands of quizzes which are made available on the platform, today we are going to explore KS2 sound.

Sound is a vibration which is seen as an acoustic wave and is transmitted through a medium. This medium could be a solid, a liquid or a gas. Sound is made when something vibrates and sends rushes of energy (vibration) into our ears. The vibrations travel through the air or another medium (solid, fluid or gas) to the ear.

Sound wave can be depicted by five qualities:

- Wavelength which is the distance between two successive crest or troughs in phase

- Amplitude, the maximum displacement from the equilibrium position.

- Period, the time taken for one complete oscillation.

- Frequency, which is the number of complete oscillations made in one second. It is also the reciprocal of Period.

- Velocity or Speed. The ratio of displacement to time

Sound is a particular topic in KS2, and is important for students to master it now since their topic will still be seen in the GCSE and A level, To help students achieve that we provide a list of questions to help students master and understand better the topic.
