(Fun and fascinating ks2 rotational symmetry quizzes for children that wish to better prepare themselves as they go in for the end of year exams or for children that wish to boost their knowledge and increase their performance in class)
Welcome to gcequiz.com. This is an online revision platform that helps children by providing them with numerous and free quizzes that have been set based on the national curriculum for ks2. In this section we are going to be looking at the rotational symmetry in ks2 Mathematics.
To understand what rotational symmetry is all about all you have to do is to imagine yourself in front of a mirror. Along a particular line, you will see an exact copy of yourself on the plane of the mirror. Many people do this at home without even knowing. An object therefore is said to have a rotational symmetry if it has the same shape when rotated about its center.
If a rectangle is rotated about its center by half of a circle, the results will look like the original rectangle. Also, if a circle is rotated about its center, the result will always look like the original circle and position of the circle and all of this is known as the Rotational Symmetry
You can try this at home by taking several objects and trying to rotate them about their center so that you can have the same shape as you started…
