Measurements

This is simply the act of determining the size, the length or the amount of an object that a vessel can contain. Measuring the length of an object, or the distance between two given points is done using a measuring ruler or a tape while measuring the amount of an object a vessel otherwise known as its volume can contain is done using so many method some of which include; using a formula like for a circular cylinder, it’s volume V is gotten by 

V=2πhr^2

Where h is the height of the cylinder and r the radius of the circular base.

With volume, a pint of something lets say water, is equivalent to two cups of water, a quart (qt) being equivalent to 4 cups of water or 2 pints and a gallon (gal) equivalent to 16 cups of water.

In summary,

1 gallon of water = 4 quarts of water = 8 pints of water = 16 cups of water
