The study of how pathogens and their virulence factors impact host cells(mostly we humans) has been a very fertile ground for uncovering basic cell biological principles and mechanisms. Such discoveries have also enhanced our understanding of the many structures, pathways, and molecules that are commonly exploited by pathogens during infection, this helps us to know how and when they will manifest externally if it concerns the type.

Microbes
Microbes are minute unicellular organisms that are invisible to the naked eye, they operate the basic drug cycles that are necessary for most plants supply of nutrients via the reaction of organic matter in soil. They are also known as microorganisms or microscopic organisms as they could only be seen under a microscope. And they often make up about 60% of the Earth surface. Microbes also cause diseases in man and other organisms like flu and measles . There are also non infectious chronic diseases such as some forms of cancer and coronary heart diseases that are caused by microbes. Different diseases are usually caused by different types of micro-organisms as they are a variety of them.

Diseases
A disease is any harmful deviation from the normal structural or functional state of an organism, which is generally associated with certain signs and symptoms and differing in nature from physical injury. A diseased organism commonly exhibits signs or symptoms indicative of its abnormal state and some of which could be fatal and lead to death. Examples of these diseases are SARS, influenza, the common cold, tuberculosis (TB), Hepatitis A and B.
