  Energetics, also known as thermodynamics in Chemistry is the field that studies energetics of chemical reactions, it is involved with the energy changes involved in a chemical reaction be it exothermic or endothermic. There are 4 branches of thermodynamics, namely:
-Classical thermodynamics
-statistical mechanics
-chemical and
-equilibrium dynamics

Laws of thermodynamics
Law 1: also known as the law of conservation of energy states that, energy can neither be created nor destroyed but can only be changed from one form to another.
        Law 2:  This law states that, in all energy exchanges, if no energy enters or leaves the system, the potential energy of the system will always be less than that of the initial system. This is commonly referred to as entropy. 

        Law 3: This law says that, the entropy of a system at absolute zero is a well defined constant. This is usually because a system at zero temperature exists in its ground state, so that its entropy is determined only by the ground state's degeneracy . 

         Most often during exams, students are asked questions such as what is energetics?, state the laws of energetics, what is an exothermic reaction, what is an endothermic reaction, etc.  It therefore means that, students should have a certain degree of knowledge in thermodynamics .
