Welcome to our platform. We are here to help you test your knowledge through quizzes.

In this section, our main topic for discussion is Simple Harmonic motion. SHM is a subsection under mechanics, which is also an important area in physics that should not be neglected. Hence, below are ready-made quizzes for you to train yourself in mastering the concept. Before that, let's have a brief description of what we'll be looking at:

Oscillations are happening all around us, from the beating of the human heart, to the vibrating atoms that make up everything. Simple harmonic motion is a very important type of periodic oscillation where the acceleration (α) is proportional to the displacement (x) from equilibrium, in the direction of the equilibrium position.

Simple harmonic motion, in physics, repetitive movement back and forth through an equilibrium, or central, position, so that the maximum displacement on one side of this position is equal to the maximum displacement on the other side. The time interval of each complete vibration is the same.

Simple harmonic motion is a special type of periodic motion where the restoring force on the moving object is directly proportional to the object's displacement magnitude and acts towards the object's equilibrium position.  Since simple harmonic motion is a periodic oscillation, we can measure its period (the time it takes for one oscillation) and therefore determine its frequency (the number of oscillations per unit time, or the inverse of the period).

During exams, students are evaluated via multiple-choice and/or short answer questions on SHM. The concept must be understood in order to get a pass in questions under it. In this light, many practice quizzes are made available Click here for more entertaining quizzes.
